Good Afternoon All!

Hello to All of our Quilting Friends:

Sandra and I made it back from Market on Tuesday about 2:00 in the afternoon - that 1500+ miles is no joke, let me tell you.  We were all glad to get home once again.

I wanted to post a few pictures of things from quilt market and let you know about some upcoming classes and thoughts for possible classes in the future.

Ms. Sandra in front of the Moda Booth at Houston Quilt Market.

The above two pictures were taken standing in the center of Market showing opposite ends of the floor.....it was truly massive and trust me, you will get your exercise....

This is Mrs. Lynn Hagemeier of Kansas Troubles....I was lucky enough to be able to meet her and get her to autograph a few books for the shop....all of the quilts you see behind her are from the book I brought back for everyone, called "Loose Change"....they are made with precut layer cakes, charm squares and mini-charms....
We took three very interesting classes and learned some things we hadn't heard of before.  I am so excited to try these out so I can pass all of the information on to ya'll.

We still have room for at least one more person in the December 8th Jelly Roll Race class if anyone else is interested.  Please call the shop at 931-682-3746 or email us at thequiltingframe@gmail.com and let us know of your interest as soon as you know.  We only have two people signed up for the November 17th Beginner's Machine Applique class on November 17th.  We need at least one other person to join if the class is to go ahead....again, let us know if you are interested as soon as you can.

We also have the Dresden Plate class scheduled for Saturday, January 19th.  We received the AccuQuilt Go cutting die for those who wish to use it to cut the pieces for the plate....we have two people interested in this class, and we need at least one more for it to happen....

I have had several requests about bag classes....I found a pattern and tutorial and made several of these tote bags (picture below).  I also purchased some handbag hardware and Sandra and I took a bag class at Market.  I am going to be working on mastering all of this and plan on doing some classes after tax season next year.

In addition, Sandra and I had the pleasure of taking a class with Ms. Eleanor Burns.  She was featuring her new book coming out, Tales of First Ladies.  Ms. Burns was very kind and funny and we enjoyed the class immensely.

We have had several inquiries about Block of the Month clubs that are not geared toward a particular Holiday, so we have decided to do a Block of the Month club beginning in April of next year based on her new book, Tales of the First Ladies.   The book shows the quilt put together in many different ways using the eight blocks from the quilt.  This quilt's versatility lends itself very well to anyone's interpretation of layout and you will have a simply stunning quilt.  The finished quilt is a large queen size featuring 12" finished blocks.  She autographed one of the books which will be given away the first Saturday the club meets.  We are thinking of meeting the last Saturday of the month at the shop, say from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., so we can talk about any problems, bring the prior months blocks in for show and tell and let us know if there is anything we can do to be of help with the success of your project.  There will be a $40 sign up fee for this class, however, for those who make it to the end, we will take the $40 off of any backing fabric you choose to pick out at the shop for your quilt.   We will begin sign up probably around the first of the year, unless you already know for sure you wish to participate, and then you can go ahead and let us know.  We haven't picked out fabric yet, and don't know what the price per month will be as of yet.  As soon as we do, we will let you know so you can make a decision regarding participation.  I took a picture of the quilt on the fron the book, so you can have an idea what the quilt will look like.....come join me for this fun and fabulous BOM club....

Come by the shop and we will have the book on display....

I'll have more pictures in the future....everyone take care and have a good weekend!

Melissa
