Class Schedule

Good Morning Everyone!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and is looking forward to a great July 4th Holiday!!!!  Sandra and I set down a schedule of upcoming classes.  We may add more as time goes on, so please keep a check on our blog for all updates.  IMPORTANT INFORMATION ***All classes require a minimum of three participants to happen.  You must let us know you are attending by the Wednesday prior to the Saturday class.  If we do not have enough participants, those who have signed up will be called ASAP to let them know the class has been cancelled.  There is a maximum of four participants per class; if we have more than four sign up, a second class will be scheduled as soon as feasible.****

July 21, 2012 / July 28, 2012 - Machine Applique Class - 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. - Cost = $20/pp.
This is an either /or date schedule.  We have had significant interest in this class, so in case we have more than four people interested, I have reserved two dates.  We will be working on either Sunbonnet Sue or Overall Sam appliques.  You will need six of either/or or some of both, whichever you prefer.  I have the class supplies list and information available at the Quilting Frame.  Remember, we have the Accuquilt Go cutter at the store and cutting die for both of these appliques.  If you want to bring your own fabric and Steam A Seam, you can use our Accuquilt Go cutter for $.50 per cut (one cut = one entire Sue/Sam applique).  We have fabric and Steam A Seam available for purchase at the store if you want to come pick out your colors.  In addition, we have a few Sunbonnet Sue already cut out with Steam A Seam for $2.00 per applique.

August 11, 2012 - Mother / Child Quilting Class - 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. - Cost = $15 per pair.
We have had a few inquiries about a class  for children from our quilting clients.  We will be making a very simple quilt block that can be stitched together for a pillow.  The class supply list will be available at least two weeks prior to the class.

August 18, 2012 - Jelly Roll Race Quilt - 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. - Cost = $20/pp.
This is a fun, simple, wonderful way to literally make a quilt in a day.  All you need is a jelly roll (jelly roll    = 40 - 2.5" strips of fabric) and some border fabric to match.  This is great fun, really easy and always pretty.  I have made three of these quilts so far, and each has been very beautiful.  I am working on how to make one queen sized, so hopefully will have that for show-and-tell during the class.  Again, supply list will be available at least two weeks prior to the class.

September 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th and October 6, 2012 - Beginners Quilting Class - 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. - Cost = $75/pp for the series.
This is a beginner's class for those who have always wanted to try quilting.  We will start at sewing      correct seams, make several different types of blocks which will be sewn together to make your first ever quilt.  It will be great fun for all, and hopefully for our students, the start of a life long love affair with this art form.  I will have the supply list for this class available well in advance so make sure you call the store and let us know you are definitely interested.

October 20th, 2012 - Hearts and Starts Quilt - 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. - Cost = $25 / pp.
We have this quilt on the wall at the shop, and boy is it a beauty.  Done in 30's reproductions, it reminds  me of spring flowers.  You can make this with any style of fabrics you choose, 30's, civil war, florals, red     and white, black and white, blues and yellows, anything that appeals to you!  A class supply list will be     available at least two weeks prior to this class.

I look forward to visiting and working with all of you in the near future.  As I said earlier, more classes may be added, so keep a watch on the blog.  For your information, the phone number at the shop is 931-682-3746.  The address is 5990 Leipers Creek Road, Santa Fe, TN.

Have a great, fun and safe Fourth of July Holiday!

Melissa (one of Sandra's Elves)
