Welcome to Fall 2011.....

Good Day Everyone!

Well, the Shop Hop 2011 is off to a fast start.  We were very busy on Saturday, which was the first official day of the Shop Hop.  We had many Shop Hoppers (makes us all sound like bunnies with shopping carts, huh :):)) in on Saturday.  It was so nice to see those quilters that come every year during the Shop Hop and see what their ideas were for the exclusive Shop Hop fabric.  The weather was good all day, and everyone seemed to be having a great time hopping from shop to shop.  Many of our great deals were scarfed up by the early bird shop hoppers, but we have more where they came from.  Several of our quilt lining fabric (108") is already marked down 25%, as well as some end of bolt pieces, precut 6 yard cuts of Moda fabric and some fabric still on bolts.  Your goodie bag discounts are good on regular priced merchandise.  For those who didn't make it in Saturday, we will be open this week Monday thru Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  We look forward to seeing the rest of ya'll soon.

This week, we will post the dates and times for two more classes at the shop.  We are going to be doing a second Double Irish Chain class for those who weren't able to attend the one on the 17th of September.  We need at least three participants.  The cost is $35 for the class plus the cost of the pattern book.  We got some new fat quarter bundles in that will work great with this pattern, so come by at your earliest convenience.  The second class will be on the Labyrinth pattern (the quilt is hanging in the shop).  We have had several inquiries about this class, and may need to have two if there are enough quilters interested.  I will post the cost and date and time as soon as it is firmed up.  We will definitely be having the classes before the Holiday season gets underway.

Everyone have a great week, and we hope to see you during the Shop Hop this week!

Shop Hop starts Saturday.....

Afternoon Everyone!

As you can imagine, it has been a busy week making final preparations for the Middle Tennessee Shop Hop.  It starts on Saturday, September 24th and runs through Saturday, October 1st.  Come visit all the participating quilt shops and get your passports stamped for a chance to win a brand new sewing machine.  The Shop Hop fabric is one that has been designed specifically for this Shop Hop and will only be available from the seven stores participating.  The second place winner from the passport drawings will receive a 5 yard cut of this material (a greater than $50 value) for free.  It makes spending all day perusing you neighborhood quilt shops that much greater when FREE is involved!  What fun!!!!!

We will have various 25% off specials during the Shop Hop all the way through October 8th, including our finished lap and bed sized quilts.  Also, your goodie bag of candy will have a percentage discount coupon inside for discounts on our regular priced merchandise during the Shop Hop.  These goodie bag discounts are not valid on merchandise already discounted.  We have gotten in lots of new materials during the last week, so make sure if you have been by recently, you stop back by to see what all is new!!

We are going to be setting up a website in the next few months to keep everyone much better informed as to what is going on in our little quilting heaven.  To this end, we will be collecting e-mail addresses during the Shop Hop for future use with our web site.  If you are interested, please either fill out the goodie bag coupon with the information, or sign up on the clipboard at the front desk while you are checking out.  All Shop Hop participants who's information we have will be entered into a drawing for our store's Shop Hop grand prize drawing at the end of the Shop Hop.  So please, fill out those coupons so we can contact you if your name is drawn.  Our grand prize will be 50% off the total cost of a long arm quilting service!!!  What a great thing to have when you have a quilt that needs to get done and you can't seem to get to it (and goodness knows, most quilters have a few of those issues at any given time...).  We will also have several door prizes each day of the Shop Hop for those who pull the lucky goodie bags.  If your goodie bag coupon says you are a door prize winner, let us know at the desk and we will get your door prize for you before you leave!

We so look forward to seeing everyone at the Shop Hop this year.  If you can't make it in during the Shop Hop, however, come by when you can and we will be glad to help you in any way possible.  Have a great rest of the week and we'll see you this weekend (hopefully)!!!!!

Thanks so much....

Good Morning Everyone:

I wanted to send out a big Thank You to the ladies in my Saturday class for the Double Irish Chain quilt.  It was a great pleasure to be able to assist you in this beautiful pattern.  As I told you, if you need further assistance, just call or stop by the shop on most Saturdays and I will be glad to provide you any help I can.

Also, we are going to do another class if we have at least three quilters who are interested in participating.  I will put a post out on the date just as soon as it is finalized.

Have a great rest of your week!

Melissa

P.S.  Don't forget the Shop Hop starts this Saturday at 9:00 a.m.  I hope to see you all there!!!

Good Morning Everyone.....

Just wanted to touch base with everyone......boy, have we been busy getting ready for the Middle Tennessee Shop Hop!  The Shop Hop starts on Saturday, September 24th and goes through the following Saturday, October 2nd.  There are seven shops participating, and I certainly hope you get a chance to visit each and every one of them.  Don't forget to buy your "passport" for a $5.00 donation.  100% of the money received from the passports will go to each shops chosen charity.  Again, ours is the Santa Fe Needy Student fund.  Once you get your passport stamped by each shop when you visit, turn it in at the last shop you visit and you will be entered for a Grand Prize drawing of a new Brother sewing machine.  Think of it this way, for a $5.00 donation to an excellent charity, you get to spend the day/days going from one quilt store to the next looking at all the new and exciting ideas, patterns, quilts and fabrics each shop will have on display, pick up a few bargains (since everyone has specials during the Shop Hop), and maybe win a brand new sewing machine.  This is a win-win situation for all the participants, so please come join us for this great event.  Remember, we have a special fabric made solely for the seven shops participating and available only through the seven quilt shops participating.

As you can see from our last post, we are going to have on sale all of our lap and bed sized quilts at 25% off the marked price.  We will also have some special cuts of fabric and end of bolt pieces for 25% off the marked price. We will also have several of our quilt kits marked on sale at 25% off until they are gone.  Come by as quick as you can before we sell out of our great deals.  If you have any questions regarding any of the bed quilts, just give me a call and I can get the dimensions, etc., for you.  I will be posting some more pictures shortly of other quilts that will be on sale during our Shop Hop.

Any of our fellow quilters who have come by in the last few years know about our goodie bag discounts.  When you come in the shop, there will be a pumpkin man holding a pumpkin of sweet treats for all those who come by (and who can't use a shot of sugar when you've been visiting and shopping the whole day :)).  Inside the treat bag will be discounts on all REGULAR priced merchandise.  These discounts will not count on any items already on sale for the Shop Hop.  So, not only are you going to pick some great fabric, quilts and or quilt kits marked down by us for this week long event, but everyone will get some discount on any regular priced merchandise in the shop.  Doesn't the word DISCOUNT just make you smile.....a little.... :):)
In addition, we will be drawing for a Grand Prize door prize winner at our shop at the end of the last day of the Shop Hop.  The prize will be 50% off the cost of a long arm quilting service.  Please make sure you fill out your name, email address and contact phone number with us so we can let the winner know the exciting news!

One last mention before I sign off for the morning.  We are having our quilt class on the Double Irish Chain this Saturday, September 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  We have room for one, maybe two more quilters, so if you are at all interested, you need to call the shop ASAP and let us know.  The cost of the class is $35 plus the purchase of the quilt pattern book (Laps from Fats) at $23.95 + tax.  This is a great quilt pattern book filled with beautiful lap sized quilts for the beginner through the intermediate quilter made with......you guessed it........fat quarters.  We are also planning another class for sometime in November on the Labyrinth pattern quilt (which is displayed in the shop).  If you think you might be interested, please leave your name, contact phone number and email address with us when you stop by and we will contact you with all the details when they are firmed up.

Ya'll have a great day, and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Sales.....Sales......Sales....

Good Morning Fellow Quilters:

We have been busy as bees getting everything ready for the Middle Tennessee Shop Hop that is going to occur between September 24th and October 2nd.  Don't forget to stop by your favorite participating quilt shop and pick up your "passport" to quilting fun.  The passport only requires a $5.00 donation and 100% of funds collected for the passports will be given to each shop's chosen charity.  We are supporting the Santa Fe Needy Students fund.

Now to the fun part.....the SALES....!!!!!  Over the next couple of weeks, we are going to let everyone know some of the sales we will be having during the month of September right through October 8th.  This will give everyone a chance to stop by and get something for a new project (or finish an old one).

First off, I am selling the bed sized quilts that are already finished at 25% off.  I have several lap, full, queen and king sized quilts already made, one with matching pillow shams.  We will be posting pictures of these quilts over the next couple of weeks so you can all get a good look at them.  There will be a far away and a close up shot of each, to try to give everyone an accurate view of the quilt.  If you are interested, you can stop by or give us a call for further details.  Also, we have some Moda fabric, 100% cotton seersucker pre-cut into 6 yard lengths for the back of your next quilt.  The great thing about this is it is all 25% off.  That means, you will be able to get a six yard cut of material to back your next quilt (will fit up to queen sized quilts) for $21.37 + tax.  Less than $25 to back a quilt.....WHAT A BARGAIN!!!  There will also be other end of bolt pieces that are marked down 25%.  Make sure you stop by early so you get the best selection.

Don't forget about our upcoming class.  It will be September 17th (assuming we have enough people interested) from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Call and let us know if you are interested, as we only have room for 4 people in the class.  Several quilters have intimated interest in the class, but the date doesn't work well for them.  We are likely to schedule another class for a weekend in October if enough quilters are interested.  Please call and let us know as soon as possible!

Until next time.....
